To many travellers, going on a tour is an efficient way of seeing a country in as little time as possible.
But being on a tour bus with 40 other strangers for the next week or two might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
A private tour sounds great, but these usually cost a lot, and are perhaps better for honeymooners.
You could plan your own trip and make your own arrangements. That gives you the advantage of doing things on your own time. But that also means you’ll have to do all the organising yourself.
If you haven’t thought of it yet, a road trip through a country is actually one of the best ways of experiencing everything it has to offer.
The Korea AUTOVENTURE, for instance, is a great way of savouring the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Korea.
Organised by the Automobile Association of Singapore (AA Singapore) and Korea Tourism Organisation, the Korea AUTOVENTURE will see participants driving around the country visiting places such as Noksan-ro Road in Jeju Island and Cherry Blossom Road, a six kilometre stretch from Hwagae Market to Ssangyesa Temple in Gyeongsangnam-do.
The 10km long Noksan-ro Road has been hailed as one of the most beautiful roads in Korea, as it is flanked by yellow
canola and pink cherry blossoms.
Cherry Blossom Road, on the other hand, is known as the “wedding path” because couples who walk along it when the flowers are blooming will supposedly fall deeper in love with each other. There’s an idea for newlyweds!
For peace-of-mind, participants in the Korea AUTOVENTURE will drive in a convoy. Being in a convoy has several advantages. It is safer than driving on your own in a foreign country, and drivers can look out for each other using the walkie-talkies in the vehicles.
This means you will also worry less about reading signs and understanding traffic conditions. And thanks to AA Singapore, there will be experienced staff and mechanics on hand to deal with any problems that arise.
The Korea AUTOVENTURE will have an English-speaking guide to facilitate the drive and accompanying activities, which will include visits to offbeat places that most tourists will miss. You’ll be able to indulge in the delicious Korean fare that awaits you in the different regions.
A scenic and exciting drive awaits you at the Korea AUTOVENTURE. And when the road trip is done, you’ll have memories to treasure for years to come.
