Hyundai’s core model nameplate Elantra (also known as Avante in some markets) has “sold” 10 million units since 1990, which works out to about 1100 sales per day. It’s the first Korean “car” to reach the milestone, ahead of the Accent and Sonata, both of which are five million units behind.
But the Hyundai Elantra still has some way to go before it can outpopulate the Toyota Corolla (40 million) and Volkswagen Golf (30 million), or outsell the Ford Focus (over a million units annually in recent years).
