HMGICS (Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore) donated an Ioniq 5 crossover to SIT (Singapore Institute of Technology), following both parties’ signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.
Following this, both HMGICS and SIT highlighted their commitment to several goals, which include energy storage technologies, research in electric mobility, education, and training.
The Ioniq 5, the first made-in-Singapore EV, will be utilised as a learning tool for students and faculty. It will facilitate applied research and coursework in EV technology and other related fields. SIT will also use the Ioniq 5 in its CET (Continuing Education and Training) programmes, which will enhance the learning experience in areas that include V2G (vehicle to grid), advanced diagnostics, and EV charging infrastructure.
SIT students and faculty will also benefit from industry attachment opportunities at HMGICS. The partnership will facilitate the exchanging of technical expertise and development of CET courses for HMGICS employees.
