Iconic, legendary, formidable. These are the words in petrolheads’ vocabulary used to describe the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution over the past decade. Arguably the originator of the four-door sports car genre, the Lancer Evo is applauded worldwide for its combination of power, agility and Super All-Wheel Control. And Mitsubishi has just produced the very last unit.
The Lancer Evolution Final Edition will be auctioned off on eBay, and all proceeds from the auction will go to Feeding America. The auction corresponds with national Hunger Action Month, when Feeding America and member food banks ask everyone in America to take action and fight hunger in their community, all September long.
The beloved and highly revered Mitsubishi Lancer Evo is going out in style with the Final Edition model, which features a pulse-pounding turbocharged and intercooled DOHC MIVEC 16-valve 4-cylinder 2-litre engine with 303 horsepower and 414Nm, making the Final Edition the most powerful mass-produced Lancer Evo ever built.
The car is equipped with a 5-speed transmission and special suspension tuning, which includes Bilstein shock absorbers, Eibach springs and Brembo 2-pot front brake rotors. The exterior features a “Final Edition” badge, a black-painted aluminium roof, glossy black centre bumper and bonnet air outlet, dark chrome-painted Enkei alloy wheels, dark chrome front grille surround and auto bi-xenon headlights. The paint job is Diamond White Pearl.
Cabin enhancements include black pillars, sunvisors, assist handles and headliner; a glossy black centre console with production serial number plaque that says US1600, red stitch accents on the sports seats, shift knob, console lid, floor mats and handbrake. The final flourish is a “Final Edition” animation on the meter display.
