BMW 5 SERIES
BMW’s arch-rival to the well-received Mercedes-Benz E-class returns in March as a seventh-generation model. Roomier than before, the new 5 Series is packed with infotainment gadgets and advanced driving aids. True to form, the new saloon also promises great handling, excellent steering and good ride comfort. The initial 5 Series lineup for Singapore will comprise the 2-litre diesel 4-pot 520d with 190bhp and 400Nm, the 2-litre petrol 4-pot 530i with 252bhp and 350Nm, and the 3-litre 6-pot 540i with 340bhp and 450Nm. All the engines are turbocharged and hooked up to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
FERRARI F12 REPLACEMENT
Sometime this year, the Italian marque is due to replace its 6262cc V12-powered F12berlinetta, one of the world’s most desirable coupes. Naturally, it’s going out with a bang, in the modified form of the F12tdf (pictured here). Limited to 799 units, the special run-out edition boasts more power (+40bhp) and less weight (-110kg), making the performance even more awesome.
FORD KUGA
The American automaker has updated the exterior and upgraded the interior of its Kuga SUV, which might come to Singapore before the end of December. The redesign includes new headlights and new alloy wheels, while the interior upgrades include a more intuitive dashboard control/connectivity system called Sync 3 and sophisticated new driver assistance technologies.
Also coming to Singapore in 2017 are the Honda CR-V, Hyundai i30 and Jeep Compass.
