Asia’s first motor racing-themed hotel room is in Hilton Singapore. The suite can be booked till September 26, 2016 via singapore.hilton.com/promotions. Members of Hilton HHonors, the hotel chain’s free-to-join guest loyalty programme, were also given an opportunity to bid on an exclusive experience via the HHonors.com/auctions platform to spend a night in the McLaren-Honda suite, as well as indulge in a private molecular cuisine dinner specially prepared by Hilton Singapore’s executive chef Vijayakant Shanmugam.
The bespoke motor racing-themed McLaren-Honda Suite at Hilton Singapore comes packed with McLaren-Honda driver kit consisting of driver race overalls, helmet, boots and gloves, as well as a McLaren-Honda racing car steering wheel and a set of display wheels. Even amenities like bathrobes are specially embroidered with the names of the McLaren-Honda Formula 1 team’s world-class drivers, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button.
Hilton has hosted some of the biggest names in motor racing. Offering a home away from home for the McLaren-Honda Formula 1 team, Hilton has already hosted the team members at seven race locations to date during the 2016 season.
To help the drivers cope with the time difference and to condition their bodies to race optimally in European day time, hotels within the Hilton portfolio in Asia Pacific operate on European timing for the McLaren-Honda Formula 1 team. In Singapore, for example, breakfast is served at 2-3pm for the drivers, and the diet is tailored to help them keep their body fat percentage below 10 percent.
